Hello, my name is Erin and I am the creator and founder of Poop Heart. I’m born and raised in Calgary Alberta and graduated from U of C with a BSc in Mechanical Engineering. I love me a good spreadsheet but my creative side needs expressing too. It all started when I was searching for funny art for my bathroom and nothing caught my eye. I love subtle humour but most pieces tended to be crude or not pretty to look at so poop heart artwork was born! I started out by creating my artwork as gifts in early 2015 for friends and family. As I got more and more requests for my artwork I realized this is something that should be available to everyone and here it is!
All images featured on my products are designed and hand drawn by me! The beautiful colours are created using mixed media. I collect recycled paper products, cloth and/or any other recycled products which I hand cut and shape onto the canvas to make the images come to life. It wouldn’t be complete without my signature poop hearts which symbolizes among many things, to not take life too seriously and smile! Once the original image is finished I digitize the picture and design the poop heart artwork and products you see on the website.
If you are interested in an original art piece I do custom orders. Please contact me for more information.
Poop heart is proud to raise money and awareness to sanitation needs including lack of toilets and infrastructure in developing countries. I will personally donate 10% of the proceeds from each item sold to the Calgary based non-profit CAWST; Centre for Affordable Water and Sanitation Technology. Please visit CAWST.org to learn more.
I’m grateful that my poop heart artwork and products can add a smile to people’s day and bring awareness to a serious need that tends to be over looked because quite frankly … it’s poop … and people don’t like talking about … poop. Not to worry because I’m passionate about poop and more then happy to spread the word about sanitation!
Thank you for your support and patronage!
Erin
